We just recently announced that Casting Crowns will be coming to Rupp Arena on October 8th. With Kings of Leon two days after, The Incredible Food Show the weekend before, and a yet-to-be-announced show, October is already looking to be a busy month. We are working on doing some exciting things on the blog surrounding those events, like perhaps more interviews similar to the one we did about a week ago, and an even more exciting thing that I can’t mention yet that will be the coolest thing we have done to date.
Tomorrow morning, we will be interviewing the Fillies, the cheerleaders for the Horsemen. It will be a video interview for the Rupp Arena Blog. Since this is for the blog, we want you to submit questions you would like to see answered. We will choose 5 of the questions submitted and use them (as well as some others) in the interview. If your question is chosen, you will have your name and location mentioned in the interview, and will win a pair of tickets to each of the last Horsemen home games. Sounds pretty sweet huh? All you have to do to enter is comment here with your question as well as your name and city you are from. Be sure to use your email you want us to contact you at when commenting. Each person can submit up to 5 different questions. You have until tomorrow morning at 9:00am to submit them, so don’t waste any time!

As of writing this, at 4:00pm EST on Thursday, June 25, there are now twenty two more VIP tickets that just became available for Red, White & Boom! The tickets are $98.00 each, but include parking, food, beverages, a laminate, a tshirt, and much more. Not to mention you will have a seat in the first five rows in front of the stage to see Hank Williams Jr. and the other acts on July 4th. Above is a clip from the Sugarland “Live on the Inside” DVD, which releases on August 4th at Walmarts everywhere. The DVD itself is all filmed from a single show, this past October 25th show at Rupp Arena! If you went to the show, or know friends that were there, then there is a good chance you will be able to pick yourself out in the crowd. Ready for the icing on the cake? The night before the DVD releases, a portion of the show will be aired on ABC primetime, during an hour-long special. So not only can you catch you and your friends (and your local arena!) on the DVD, but can see it at 8:00EST on August 3rd on ABC! If you happen to miss attending the show, then I would definitely recommend checking it out on TV at least. It was a great concert with a lot of audience participation. We are excited to announce that the Kings of Leon are coming to Rupp Arena Saturday, October 10! Tickets go on-sale Friday, June 12 at 10:00am. This morning we officially announced that Miley Cyrus will be coming back to Rupp Arena on November 1, 2009 as part of her new 2009 North American Tour. She will be joined by her brother’s band, Metro Station, who is featured as the special guest on the 45 show tour. The schedule is announced for this year’s Red White & Boom! Gates will open at 3:00pm on July 4th, and the event will run until curfew at 12:00am that night. There will be two stages in the parking lot. The Main Stage will be where Hank Williams Jr., Keith Anderson, Justin Moore, Holly Williams & Halfway to Hazard perform. The Second Stage will be for the winner of the S&S Tire Battle of the Bands. They will be performing in between the acts on the Main Stage. It seems like 98.1 The Bull and S&S Tire and doing a cool thing this year leading up to Red, White & Boom. They are having a battle of the bands in which the winning band will get to perform at Red, White & Boom. Pretty much all you have to do is take a CD and photo to an S&S Tire around town and you and your band will be entered into the battle. As you may have noticed, I put something new in the sidebar a week or so ago. It is list of the Top 10 demanded artists for Lexington, KY on Eventful. For those of you who don’t know what that is, Eventful is simple a site that measures demands for artists in various cities.
