Jonas Brother Concert Info

As many of you may know we unofficially kick off our arena season this Sunday with the Jonas Brother concert here at Rupp Arena at 7:00pm. It is already looking to be a wild night with over 17,500 people already slated to be there. Are you attending the show? There are a variety of tips and info you can find out after the jump that you will want to read through before heading here on Sunday.
On a different note, the Jonas Brothers are hosting a webcast on their Facebook page this Saturday from 2:00pm to 3:00pm. If you are going to the show, then we will see you there. If not, then know that this show is only the beginning. The schedule is beginning to look packed, especially in October.
In an effort to provide some general information and alert you to the challenges created by a large number of people coming to this event, we offer the following information:
GETTING HERE:
The concert is scheduled to begin at 7:00 PM with doors opening to the arena at 5:30 PM. In the High Street parking lot, directly across from Rupp Arena, there will be outdoor activities by tour sponsors Burger King, Verizon, Mike & Ike, Radio Disney and others scheduled to begin at around 4:00 pm.
DIRECTIONS AND PARKING:
Please follow this link for driving directions to the arena. As illustrated, parking is available around the complex as well as several adjacent public parking areas. Paid parking will be in effect and the rate is $10.00 per car. With such a large show, the demand for parking will be very high. Please give yourself plenty of time to get here.
WILL CALL:
If you are picking up tickets at Will Call, please be aware that the Ticket Office will open Sunday at 12 Noon. You may also pick your tickets up during normal business hours 10:00am – 6:00pm Monday through Friday. Tickets will only be released to the person whose name is on the account; photo ID and the credit card used to purchase the ticket are required to pick up the tickets. Per artist management, no exceptions will be made to this policy. Long lines are anticipated at the Ticket Office so early pickup is highly recommended. For additional information regarding will call, please contact our Ticket Office directly at 859-233-3535.
WHAT YOU CAN BRING AND WHAT YOU SHOULD LEAVE AT HOME:
Please be reminded that in an effort to provide a safe and secure environment, patrons will be monitored as they enter the arena. Many items are restricted such as guns, knives, weapons of any type, video or audio recording equipment, professional cameras, mace/pepper spray, etc. For a full list of prohibited items, please review our website at www.rupparena.com. Small cameras to include cameras with a basic flash photography capability are allowed for this event but all photographs must be taken from your assigned seat. Digital cameras will be allowed but digital videos are strictly prohibited. Any patrons found doing so are subject to ejection per artist management.
ENTERING THE ARENA:
If you are attending as a large group, to expedite entry into the arena, please distribute tickets to each individual prior to entering the arena lobby. As you approach the Ticket Takers, please hold your ticket upright so that the bar code is visible. The Ticket Taker will not need to “take” your ticket as it is validated by a bar code scanner. If they can scan the bar code, the lines will move very quickly.
FOOD AND BEVERAGE / MERCHANDISE:
There is a food court in The Shops at Lexington Center, adjacent to Rupp Arena and multiple restaurants within a short walking distance around the complex to visit prior to entering the arena for the show. Once inside you will find a nice selection of concessions available on the arena concourses. Merchandise locations will be located in the arena lobby as well as in several locations on the arena concourses and in the High Street parking lot at the outdoor activities. Both the concession stands and the merchandise locations take cash or credit cards. Additionally there are two ATM machines located in the arena. One is in the arena lobby itself and the second in located on the concourse across from Section 12.
ACCESSIBLE NEEDS / FIRST AID
For patrons with accessible needs, please proceed to the Guest Services Entrance located adjacent to the primary entrances so that we may be able to better able to serve you. Our First Aid station is located on the west concourse adjacent to Section 34 should you need medical assistance during the event.
PARENT’S LOUNGE:
There will be a “Parent’s Lounge” located in Thoroughbred 4 adjacent to the Arena lobby. In this room, parents who have brought guests to the event can sit and relax close to the arena yet be in a designated location if their guests need to locate them for any reason. There will be separate entrances for parents with or without tickets. Please look for signs when you enter the Arena lobby. There is no charge for this room but it is for parents or adults only. Free Internet access will be available.
ESTABLISH A MEETING PLACE FOR AFTER THE CONCERT:
It is a good idea to establish a place to meeting during or immediately after the concert in the event that your party gets separated. When you arrive, chose a place that is easy to remember such as the ATM machine in the lobby, the concession stand nearest the section where you are sitting, etc. We recommend not meeting at your vehicle in the parking lot as once you are outside, you can not return to the event.
