It’s more than a rodeo – it’s PBR BULLNANZA. And it’s CRAZY!! Seriously, crazy. These guys risk life and limb each time they enter the arena … and they love it! I’ve been to rodeos before, and admittedly, the bull riding competition is my favorite. And not just because these cowboys are donned in boots, chaps and cowboy hats, although that is reason enough. But it’s fast-paced, it’s exciting, and whether they actually manage to stay on for eight seconds so they can be scored, or not, we cheer for their effort, their technique, and their swagger.

If you haven’t heard already Coach John Calipari, ‘UKCoachCalipari,’ is on Twitter! Within the span of 3 months he has already amassed over 100,000 followers and it doesn’t look like he’s stopping there. So if you’re into UK Basketball we’d definitely recommend you follow him. He sends out tweets throughout the day, ranging from motivational advice, to talk about his family, and of course, announcements and updates about UK Basketball. Rupp Arena’s page on Facebook is constantly getting more and more fans, so we thought it would be fun to celebrate some big milestones with giveaways. The Lexington Convention Center had the pleasure of hosting a very inspirational leader on Friday night, Dr. Mehmet Oz.  He has appeared on many of Oprah’s talk shows and just recently completed his last show with her to start his own.  I know this is corny, but I was really excited sitting there in the crowd knowing he was just standing to the side waiting to come out.  I was excited to see what he had to say, since I have watched most of his shows and read two of his books. It seems like 98.1 The Bull and S&S Tire and doing a cool thing this year leading up to Red, White & Boom. They are having a battle of the bands in which the winning band will get to perform at Red, White & Boom. Pretty much all you have to do is take a CD and photo to an S&S Tire around town and you and your band will be entered into the battle. As you may have noticed, I put something new in the sidebar a week or so ago. It is list of the Top 10 demanded artists for Lexington, KY on Eventful. For those of you who don’t know what that is, Eventful is simple a site that measures demands for artists in various cities. If you want to see a band, or comedian, or whoever, you can go on there and demand they come to Lexington, KY. The cool thing is that it measures that demand, so us here at Rupp can hop on there and see what artists you all want to see come here, then do our best efforts to make that happen.
