Three words- LOUD AND FUN! Talk about action packed entertainment! These guys know how to please a crowd- and let me tell you, the crowd was loving it! It started with the opening Pit Party. Fans showed up to get autographs and pictures with all of the drivers (including Grave Digger’s driver, Gary Porter!), which was definitely the right way to kick off a show.

March 27, 2009 at 6:30 pm, Rupp Arena was the place to be. Those in attendance witnessed a spectacular rock event featuring Burn Halo, Papa Roach, and double headliners Avenged Sevenfold and Buckcherry. It was an amazing show and a night to remember.

Tonight we welcome Buckcherry, Avenged Sevenfold, Papa Roach and Burn Halo to Rupp Arena. As per my norm, I will give you some insight into each of the bands so you can know what to expect, and make sure you get there in time to check them all out! This past Saturday was the last day of this year’s National City/KHSAA Boys’ Sweet 16® State Basketball Tournament at Rupp Arena. The Semifinals were decided by two matches earlier in the day, at 10:00am and 11:30am. The final took place at night at 8:00pm, and was definitely a match to remember. Mickey, Minnie and Friends skated into Rupp Arena this past weekend with Disney on Ice – 100 Years of Magic. Over 35,000 people attended the eight show run, which concluded on Sunday, March 15. Patrons of all ages were entertained with the spins, jumps and turns of their favorite Disney characters. The real stars of the shows though were the little fans donned in the attire of their favorite Disney character. – Theresa Lloyd, Rupp Arena Event Manager

It is that time again. This next week Rupp Arena will host the National City Bank KHSAA Sweet 16 ® Boys Basketball Tournament. It will be kicked off with four games on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. The semi-finals and finals will take place on Saturday. For the avid basketball fan, there will be plenty of games, and plenty of talent.

Thousands lined up outside Rupp Arena for this year’s Winter Jam ’09 Tour Spectacular, dubbed the “largest annual tour in the history of Christian Music.” This year’s concert was, thanks to the weather, light on the Winter, and thanks to the artists, heavy on the Jam.
