A couple nights ago I was able to catch the Buckcherry, Avenged Sevenfold, Papa Roach and Saving Abel concert at the Bank of Kentucky Center on February 23. Not only am I a fan of the bands, but it was a great way to test the waters for when those bands come to Rupp Arena in the next month. Buckcherry, Avenged Sevenfold and Papa Roach will be here on March 27, along with another yet to be announced band. Saving Abel will actually be here this Friday opening for Nickelback and Seether. Saving Abel started the night with some great rock songs. They are a fairly new band so many people, including myself, only recognized their radio hit, “Addicted.” They did a great job though and I REALLY think fans of Nickelback and Seether will enjoy them even more because they have a similar sound. As soon as Papa Roach took the stage the crown exploded. Their frontman/singer, Jacoby Shaddix, is amazing at getting everyone really excited and into the music. They played a bit of everything; some older things from Infest up until some new singles off their CD yet to be released. Buckcherry got the crowd excited in a completely different way. There wasn’t any moshing, but lots of crowd surfing and people singing along with their favorite songs. Avenged Sevenfold took the stage to extremely loud cheers and clapping hands. Between Synyster Gates’ solos and M. Shadows’ powerful vocals, the crowd exploded with energy.

It was an amazing show and I can’t wait to see each band again when they come here. Saving Abel will be a perfect appetizer to open the Nickelback show this Friday. Buckcherry, Avenged Sevenfold and Papa Roach will do an amazing job again when they are here on March 27. Be sure to get your tickets if you haven’t yet.
