The fans came out in force last night for WWE Smackdown Live at Rupp Arena. Although the temperature was frigid and snow was plaguing the roads, the line to get into the arena was massive. Fans were not disappointed, as they got to witness a variety of events including tag teams, a street fight, and a steel cage match for the finale. Who’s who of WWE Smackdown took the ring and showed off all of their signature moves. Anyone can watch wrestling on TV, but to see them live, hold up a sign, and cheer/yell at them in person is a completely different experience.

At the start of the show Edge and Hurricane Helms were taunting each other in the ring. They began to fight when Umage came storming down to help out Edge. Not long after that The Great Khali came out to help out Hurricane Helms. Hurricane and Khali challenged Edge and Umaga to a tag team later that night. As the night moved on, fans saw a tag team match with Carlito & Primo taking on The Brian Kendrick and Ezekiel Jackson, which Carlito and Primo ended up winning. A championship match took place to see who would be the United States Champion. Shelton Benjamin held onto his title by beating R-Truth.

The beautiful Bella Twins (Brie & Nikki) took on Michelle McCool & Eve in a tag team Divas match. The twins ended up winning leaving Michelle and Eve frustrated with each other. The previously mentioned match come to fruition as Edge & Umaga took on The Great Khali & Hurricane Helms. Edge even tried to match Umaga by drawing fake tattoos on his chest. The tattooed duo ended up victorious against Hurricane Helms and The Great Khali.

The fans roared with excitement when it was announced that Triple H would be taking on Vladimir Koslov in a street fight, meaning no rules. Both wrestlers employed a variety of objects to gain the upper hand on their opponent. Most notibly, Triple H hit Vladimir with a sledge hammer which eventually led to his defeat. Triple H greeted all the fans surrounding the ring and struck a few of his signature poses before exiting the arena.

There was a slight intermission as the tech crew assembled the steel cage around the ring. Shortly after, the entrance music for The Big Show started blasting as the big man himself made his way into the ring. As soon as he got settled, the dark and gloomy music of The Undertaker rumbled as the lights went dark and purple spotlights lit the silhouette of the massive cloaked man. He made his way to the cage and they began what would be a long and tough match between two large and experienced wrestlers. I can only imagine how intense it must have been to be sitting in the front row when they threw each other up against the walls of the cage. After they had both exhausted and hurt one another, The Big Show went in for a final blow which The Undertaker turned around on him into a choke hold forcing The Big Show to tap out. All in all, a great match and great event overall. If you happened to miss out this time, I am sure we will be getting back more WWE shows in the future, so keep your eyes peeled.
