Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus Bellobration is in town and has performances throughout this weekend as well as some other fun events planned. On Friday at 1:00pm, there will be an Elephant Wash in Triangle Park in the middle of downtown Lexington. Also, ninety minutes before each show there will be an Animal Open House in the back parking lot of Rupp Arena. Hit the jump to read more details.

For each performance, you can show up early and head down the ramp from High Street toward the back parking lot of Rupp Arena and go to the Animal Open House. The open house is free, but you will need to have your tickets to that show with you in order to be admitted. An hour before each show there will be a preshow on the floor of the arena where you can meet some of the performers.

This Friday, at 1:00pm EST there will be an Elephant Wash at Triangle Park in downtown Lexington. Show up a bit early and watch the elephants walk down Main Street to the park. Below is a press release with more details about the show and the Elephant Wash.

“Elephant Rinse” scheduled for Friday, September 26th in Triangle Park

LEXINGTON, KY (September 25th, 2008) – Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey presents Bellobration live at Rupp Arena Thursday, September 25th through Sunday, September 28th.

The greatest comic daredevil on the planet welcomes you to The Greatest Show On Earth! With bravado and flair, Bello takes his mischief and mayhem into a spectacular, interactive realm where anything goes.

In conjunction with the Bellobration performances, Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey will host an “Elephant Rinse” in Triangle Park, adjacent from Rupp Arena, on Friday, September 26th at 1:30pm. A total of 5 elephants will be treated to a special rinsing by the Lexington Fire Department, to be followed by a brief elephant brunch. Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey clowns will entertain the crowd beginning at 1:15pm, providing circus fans of all ages with clown noses and giveaways.
