Taste of What’s To Come
August 27, 2008 by Paul Hooper
While on vacation, I was able to catch the Nine Inch Nails show this past Saturday at another venue. Bad news: I won’t be able to make the Lexington one, Good news: I can tell you how extremely awesome it is going to be. Although I will happily admit I am a bit biased as I am a fan of the band, I feel comfortable saying that the concert was amazing, even if you don’t like the music that much. When I saw them at Rupp Arena in 2006 it set the bar really high with lighting effects and visual elements. I knew what a Nine Inch Nails show could look like and was hoping it would meet the same expectations on this tour. It easily met and surpassed my demands with some of the most innovative visuals I have ever seen. There are a few moments in the show (or between songs) that just make your mouth drop and your eyes widen.
If you are a fan of the band, then you will appreciate the set list which includes a little bit of everything. I heard songs from Downward Spiral, With Teeth, Year Zero, The Fragile, Ghosts IV, The Slip and other albums. The best part about it all is that if you haven’t heard any of The Slip, you can just download it off the Nine Inch Nails website for free. I would suggest giving it a few listens before the show, but if you aren’t able to then check it out afterward.

Unfortunately I am unable to make the Lexington show (although rest assured it will still be guest blogged), otherwise I would love to see it all again. If you already have plans to attend the show in Lexington this Sunday then you will not be disappointed. If you have yet to get any tickets, I would highly recommend you do.
