Three Days, Three Events, Forty Thousand People

April 10, 2008 by Paul Hooper

You may remember a weekend back at the beginning of March where there were some events going on. The staff remembers it well since it was one of our busiest weekends this year. Earlier in that week was the Linkin Park concert which also marked the official launch of this blog. That weekend was the George Strait concert on Friday, Monster Jam on Saturday, and then UK Hoops (University of Kentucky Women’s Basketball) was on Sunday. Amidst the madness, someone around the office thought about how cool it would be to show a time lapse of the entire weekend. All three events vary so much from one another and require a lot of setup which would make a time lapse interesting to watch. WKYT was kind enough to run with the idea and set up a camera in one of the spotlight sections above the upper arena. It turns out that the video was a great idea. Everyone around the office enjoyed it a lot, and even the people who were here all weekend found it interesting to step back and take a look as it all unfolded. For you viewing pleasure, we added some music, some time stamps, and uploaded it to our Youtube page.

* The following took place in an undisclosed building (psst… Rupp Arena) between the dates of February 29st and March 2nd. This has been captured from actual events and is not a dramatization. This post will self destruct in two and a half minutes. *

Tonight I Wanna Cry is my favorite Keith Urban song at the moment because it
is April l2th and I’ve been working on tax returns for months now. I will not however
be crying on Saturday April 26 if I win these tickets. It would be the perfect ending
    to a crazy tax season.

I have been an avid fan of Keith’s since BEFORE he made it big!! I traveled with the fan club and went to 2 fan club parties. However, I only got to meet him once!! It is killing me to have to sit in the nosebleed seats for this show, so I pray I win. My favorite KU song is SO hard to choose!! I love “You’ll Think of Me”. The touches he adds to the end of that song in the live show are fabulous.

My favorite part of Carrie’s songs is “Took a Louisville Slugger to both headlights.”

I have a daughter that competes on trampolines. if she were to be in the circus I am sure that she would do awesome. I think that would be fun to watch. she also love horses and animals in general. She has a chihuahua that she loves to teach tricks to, maybe she could have a dog act!!! HA!HA!

Both of my sons have been on the X Team. The team does exhabitions to perform ball handling skills, so they could do that as an act. My younger son also dances, so he could dance. That is about all of the talent we have. My daughter takes gymnastics, but she isn’t good enough yet to perform anything other than a forward roll or swinging on the paralell bars. Ha! Ha! I guess the whole family could be clowns, though, since my children are usually the entertainment factor at any local event. What they lack in talent, they sure make up for in comedy!!!!
